What this Means for Women

The USPSTF screening guidelines impact your ability to access life-saving screenings for a preventable and treatable disease, like cervical cancer. Currently, cervical cancer screenings are free of cost for women. This is possible because of the Affordable Care Act and guidelines set by the USPSTF. It’s crucial to speak out in support of screening guidelines that would ensure women can continue to access Pap testing and co-testing at no cost.

  • Cervical cancer rates are no longer declining, and Black and Hispanic women are at greater risk for the disease.
  • Co-testing has been shown to be the most sensitive screening strategy for detecting cervical cancer and precancer.

If you’re looking for more ways to share your feedback, you can also submit a comment directly to the USPSTF.
